The GDI Council are foolishly believing that Nod is no longer a threat after the defeat of CABAL and assassination of Slavik.

The council are hell-bent on funding anti-tiberium research as well as a new task force that will operate in the worst Tiberium infested areas.
Although I could not secure the funding we deserve, we have enough to start hunting down Nod cells.
I'm sending you to Egypt for your first assignment.
Our scouts have detected two large Nod splinter cells fighting for control of the region.
We will send you a small attack force to help you set up your base, use Titans and Wolverines to dominate the weak Nod forces.
As part of our funding, we have started to develop new vehicles. They will be purpose built to counter Nod tactics and maintain our armour supremacy.
We cannot allow either cell to gain the upper hand, eradicate everything Nod to secure victory."
