(UPDATED v1.3. PLEASE SEE CHANGELOG)

A few years after using GDI's Ion Cannon against a key political structure we were able to get the upperhand against the GDI menace. With the weakened public support affecting GDI operations--including the discontinuation of their Ion Cannon--we were able to successfully drive them out of Africa.

However, during the course of our campaign, we lost our leader, Kane. Presumably killed in action, many groups within the brotherhood split amongst themselves to maintain Nod's complete control of Africa.

Unbeknownst to them, Kane secretly lives and watches from the shadows. The only one this is known to is you, the favorite of all his commanders--the Hero of Egypt. Kane entrusts you with giving important missions to strengthen the brotherhood's military might, and to keep his whereabouts hidden from the rest of the brotherhood.

However, as of recent, GDI has made a comeback. Though still weak and frail, they fight like rabid cornered dogs, and have begun reactivation of once derelict bases one by one. With renewed public support they have begun a campaign against the brotherhood once again.

The spies within the GDI ranks have reported that GDI has just reactivated their main Ion Cannon relay base dubbed "Thunder Mountain". Thunder Mountain is given its name due to the mountain being littered with GDI scum and their Advanced Guard Towers echoing thunderous volleys of missiles and shells with the Ion Cannon being the cherry on top.

Kane has issued his personal order to focus on terminating their Advanced Communication Centers at the peak of the mountain. This mission is of tactical importance and should be made sure to be completed at all costs. You don't need to worry about taking out all the GDI pests. Once their Adv Comms are down, they'll be nothing but bugs waiting to be squashed.

Recon has indicated that there are multiple ways to get to the peak of the mountain. Either north through the mountain itself with its hellish onslaught of GDI defenders and close quarters, south through the GDI base itself, or you can forge your own path.

A local village of GDI sympathizers would make a great location to set up a base of operations. The villagers would be glad to give their space to the brotherhood if you "pursuade" them to move. Our task force of "pursuaders" are en route to assist with the job, and SSM launchers not too far behind to assist in the assault.

Kane is confident that you'll complete the task. Do not fail him.

(Briefing)
GDI's Ion Cannon has been the thorn in our side. Their communications relay is located on the top of a heavily fortified mountain. Kane needs you to focus on destroying these Adv Comm Centers. Don't worry about the GDI pests. A local village nearby is a good spot to set up base. "Pursuade" them to move. SSM launchers will be provided to help the cause.
