Beschreibung

My son asked me who would win if GDI battled the Soviets. Now we can find out.

Adds GDI and Nod, the two factions from Tiberian Dawn, as fully playable sides in Command & Conquer: Red Alert Remastered, alongside the original Allies and Soviets. Pick any of the four in skirmish and fight them all on the same map.

Version 1.12. GDI and Nod are complete factions with their own bases, full unit rosters, superweapons, and working AI opponents, built from authentic Tiberian Dawn art and sound.
Two new factions
• GDI: Construction Yard, Power Plants, Refinery, Barracks, Weapons Factory, Comm Center, Advanced Comm, Helipad, and a Service Depot that repairs vehicles. Defended by Guard Towers and Advanced Guard Towers, with the Ion Cannon superweapon.
 • Nod: Construction Yard, Power Plants, Refinery, Hand of Nod, Airstrip, Comm Center, Temple of Nod, and Helipad. Defended by Gun Turrets, SAM Sites, and the laser-firing Obelisk of Light, with the Nuclear Strike superweapon.
Full unit rosters
• Infantry: Minigunner, Grenadier, Rocket Soldier, Flamethrower, Chem Warrior, Engineer, and the Commando.
 • Vehicles: Medium Tank, Light Tank, Mammoth Tank, Flame Tank, Recon Bike, Hum-vee, Buggy, APC, MLRS, SSM Launcher, Artillery, plus the Harvester and Mobile Construction Vehicle.
 • Aircraft: GDI's Orca and Nod's Apache.
AI opponents that play the factions
The GDI and Nod AI build a full base, run an economy, tech up, and field a combined-arms army of infantry, tanks, and aircraft. Fill a skirmish with any mix of the four sides.
Authentic look and sound
Tiberian Dawn unit and EVA voices, plus building and weapon sound effects including the Obelisk's charge-up and red laser and the Ion Cannon strike.
Selecting GDI or Nod
GDI and Nod appear directly in the skirmish faction picker, alongside Allies and Soviets, for you and for the AI. Pick a faction and play.
Graphics
Remastered graphics are recommended. Classic graphics mode still has some visual issues being ironed out.
Known limitations
• The Select-all-combat-units (A) and Deploy (/) keyboard shortcuts only recognise the Allied/Soviet Harvester and MCV, not the GDI/Nod ones. This is a limitation in the game's launcher that a mod cannot reach. To deploy a GDI/Nod MCV, select it and click it (the deploy cursor still works). The A key will also grab GDI/Nod harvesters and MCVs, so use a drag-box to select your army instead.
 • Classic graphics mode still has some visual issues; Remastered graphics are recommended.
 • GDI and Nod currently use Tiberian Dawn authentic stats; a Red Alert balance pass is planned.
Planned
• Red Alert balance pass: the factions currently use Tiberian Dawn authentic stats; a future update will tune them for Red Alert's scale and pacing.
 • Smarter AI: ongoing improvements to how the computer opponents build, defend, and use their armies and superweapons.
Changelog
Version 1.12

 • Fixed: the GDI/Nod Construction Yard was stretched and bulged out of its foundation; it now displays at the correct size and sits properly in place.
 • Smaller download: the mod's program file is about 25 MB smaller (debug data that did nothing in-game has been stripped). No gameplay change.

Version 1.11

 • Fixed: GDI and Nod unit and building sight ranges. The Hum-vee scout in particular could barely see past the shroud.
 • Fixed: the Tiberium Harvester now drives off to harvest on its own when built from the war factory, instead of sitting idle.
 • Fixed: GDI and Nod now get the build-speed bonus from owning a second factory, the same as the Allies and Soviets.
 • Fixed: the radar online/offline sound no longer repeats endlessly.
 • Balance: the GDI APC was far too fast and outran the Hum-vee scout; brought down to a sensible transport speed.

Version 1.1

 • Fixed: GDI and Nod now start skirmishes with their own Tiberian Dawn units, instead of borrowed Allied tanks and infantry.
 • Balance: the GDI/Nod Harvester now moves at the same speed as the Allied/Soviet Harvester. It previously used its slower Tiberian Dawn values, which put GDI and Nod at an early-economy disadvantage.

Version 1.0

 • Initial release: GDI and Nod as fully playable factions with their own bases, full unit rosters, superweapons, working AI opponents, and authentic Tiberian Dawn voices and sound.
Compatibility
• This is a DLL mod. It will not work alongside any other mod that also modifies RedAlert.dll. Disable other DLL mods such as CFE Patch before enabling this one.
 • Single-player skirmish tested. Multiplayer not yet tested.

Built on top of Vanilla Conquer. DLL source is GPL v3, inherited from EA's 2020 Remastered Collection source release.
